A Sustainable Summit and gorgeous runway shows by Rene by RR and Lisu Vega
at Gary Nader Art Centre
Sustainable Summit
The Sustainable Summit took place at the Wolfson Campus Auditorium of
Miami Dade College, featuring two enlightening panels.
The event showcased remarkable speakers, including Matt Levine, the Founder of Chlorophyll Water; Gabriella Smith, Founder of the Upcycle Project; Emily Milton, Program Manager at ASCENDANCE sustainable events; Jacqueline Aramboles, WM Manager; Moe Hachem, Partnership & Outreach Director at Sneaker Impact; and Michelle Salas, the founder of Lady Green Recycling.
After opening his first atelier in Coral Gables in the 1990s, René quickly became the go-to designer for celebrities and socialites.
His eye for high-quality fabrics and personalized attention to the creation and tailoring of each garment has created an international following. As the only Miamian featured at Miami Fashion Week, René embarked on a new journey, launching his first line for René by RR in 2018.
Her work has been enriched by the use of recycled ropes, found materials, poly silk,
and some other textile materials.Â
As a multidisciplinary artist, Vega's work explores the emotions we associate with memories through the allegory of "weaving", both literally through the physical materials and metaphorically as a process
