How did your music and modeling begin? How did you know that you had a passion for both? My journey into music began in the most cliché way possible - in church. That’s where I first discovered the joy of singing. As for modeling, it began during my rebel days around the ages of 18 to 19, primarily because my mom was against both pursuits. Despite not having a specific moment of realization, I’ve always felt a deep-seated desire to be an artist, to create something of my own. I can’t exactly pinpoint when I knew, but the one thing I’m certain of is that singing brings me the greatest joy.

Pursuing a career in music comes with its set of challenges. Can you discuss any specific obstacles you've faced as a Haitian artist in the music industry and how you've overcome them? Indeed, the music industry is fraught with challenges, and they evolve as you progress. For me, each level of success has introduced a new set of difficulties. However, my strategy for overcoming these obstacles is to always remember my 'why' - the purpose behind my music. This purpose serves as my weapon against difficulties, guiding me through the industry's complexities.

How have audiences, both within and outside the Haitian community, responded to the cultural aspects of your music? The response has been overwhelmingly positive. My music resonates with my Haitian community, bringing them joy and a sense of connection. Outside of my community, people are often curious and intrigued by the sound. Even if they don't understand the language, there’s a familiarity and an emotional connection, because music, after all, is meant to be felt.

Have you collaborated with other artists to blend different musical styles with your Haitian roots? If so, what was that experience like? Yes, I’ve had the privilege to collaborate with several artists, such as Sharaya J, an American rapper and dancer known for her hit song "Banji" and her participation in "The Four." Our collaboration on the song "They Asking" was an incredible experience. I’ve also worked with DJ Fredy Musk, an African American producer, and Meaku, on a remix for "Johanna" by Afro B. Each collaboration has been phenomenal, allowing me to blend and celebrate different musical styles with my Haitian roots.

How important is it for you to preserve Haitian musical traditions through your work, and are there modern elements you incorporate to appeal to a broader audience? Preserving Haitian musical traditions is paramount to me. It’s crucial to maintain my authenticity and originality in my work. However, I also strive to produce a global sound that transcends cultural boundaries. Incorporating modern elements into my music is a way to appeal to a broader audience, and I’m looking forward to starting projects in English to further this goal.

Looking ahead, are there any projects or goals you're particularly excited about that will further explore or showcase your heritage? Absolutely! I’m currently working on my new album, which is a labor of love and heritage. Additionally, I've just released a new single with visuals called “Souvn.i.” These projects are not just musical endeavors but are deeply intertwined with my heritage, aiming to showcase and celebrate it on a global stage.
