How Emi Gal’s Ezra is Revolutionizing Early Cancer Detection with AI

What happens when a personal tragedy sparks a global mission? For Emi Gal, the Founder and CEO/CTO of Ezra, it became the fuel to create a revolutionary early cancer detection platform

—one that’s changing lives using AI-powered full-body MRIs.

“I have cancer in my family. My mother passed away from cancer because she found it late,” Emi shared in an exclusive interview with Miami Vibes Magazine. “Unfortunately, the ‘aha’ moment was not necessarily a happy one.” But out of grief came purpose. Emi founded Ezra with one powerful goal: to detect cancer early for everyone. And he’s already shaking up

the landscape of preventive medicine.

Reimagining Early Cancer Detection Through AI

Ezra isn’t your typical medical imaging service. In fact, it’s light years ahead. “We are at heart an AI company,” Emi explained.

“We're the only company in the world that leverages AI at every step of the screening process.”

From faster MRI acquisition and enhanced image quality to plain-English radiology reports, Ezra’s AI systems—like Flash, Ezra Assist, and Ezra Reporter—work behind the scenes to create a seamless, stress-free experience for patients.

“We currently detect cancer in 13 organs and over 500 conditions with our scan,” he noted. “But what sets us apart is how we use AI to make it more affordable and accessible.”

Currently, a full-body Ezra scan runs about $1,500—a competitive price considering its reach and accuracy. But Emi has bigger plans. “By the end of next year, we’re aiming to launch a $500, 15-minute full-body MRI,” he said with conviction. “That’s our mission: early detection that’s accessible to everyone.”

He’s also breaking barriers in the AI conversation, tackling public misconceptions head-on.

“People think AI is going to replace doctors,” he said. “I don’t subscribe to that. Doctors won’t be replaced by AI—they’ll be replaced by doctors using AI.”

Beyond Cancer: Welcome to the Ezra Blueprint

If you’re into biohacking, longevity, or simply being the best version of yourself, Ezra’s got something for you too: the Ezra Blueprint.

Developed in partnership with longevity influencer Bryan Johnson, this premium offering includes two 60-minute MRIs, a low-dose chest CT, and a heart scan—plus 14 in-depth reports covering everything from neurodegenerative assessments to visceral fat analysis.

“We want to have the most affordable scan in the world—and the most advanced one,” Emi said. “The Ezra Blueprint is what Bryan uses. It’s longevity-focused and incredibly comprehensive.”

Life-Saving Results—Literally

Perhaps what’s most moving about Ezra is its impact. Emi shared a story that left us speechless:

“A gentleman about my age, 36, came in with no symptoms. Our scan found a malignant brain tumor. He had it removed successfully, and his doctor said he wouldn’t have found it for another five years. It would’ve been too late.”

But it gets even better.

“He quit his job, enrolled at Columbia, and is now doing a postdoc in oncology—to help others.”

The Man Behind the Mission: Emi’s Personal Routines

Beyond the boardroom and MRI suites, Emi stays grounded through mindfulness. “I meditate twice a day using the Waking Up app,” he said. “It’s remarkable how much it helps me quiet the monkey mind.”

And when he’s not running Ezra?

“I’m inherently curious about everything. I love talking to Claude AI—it has personality! I’ll start with a question and two hours later, I’m still chatting.”
