Dubai is no stranger to spectacle, but Ciel Dubai Marina has officially raised the bar—straight into the clouds. The world’s tallest hotel marked its highly anticipated opening with one of the most audacious aerial celebrations the city has ever seen. In a show-stopping collaboration with XDubai and the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), the skies above Dubai Marina became the stage for a jaw-dropping precision wingsuit stunt that perfectly captured Ciel’s bold mission: redefining elevated luxury through unforgettable, boundary-pushing experiences.

Rising an awe-inspiring 377 metres above one of Dubai’s most coveted waterfront districts, Ciel Dubai Marina introduces 82 floors of striking architecture, immersive dining, and panoramic views that stretch from the city skyline to the Arabian Gulf. From the moment it entered the skyline, Ciel signaled that this wasn’t just another luxury hotel—it was a new benchmark for experiential hospitality in the Middle East.

A Wingsuit Spectacle Over Dubai Marina

To commemorate its debut, five elite XDubai wingsuit athletes executed a breathtaking formation flight over Dubai Marina, turning the skyline into a living canvas of motion and color. The lead athlete delivered the ultimate adrenaline moment—flying directly through Ciel’s iconic architectural centerpiece, known as the “eye of the needle,” threading the 82-storey opening at speeds exceeding 200 km/h.

Maintaining flawless formation, the remaining athletes deployed coordinated color effects designed with meticulous safety precision, creating a vivid aerial trail against Dubai’s iconic skyline. Captured by a custom-rigged FPV drone, the cinematic footage revealed angles and perspectives rarely seen, transforming the activation into a gravity-defying visual experience that quickly captured global attention.

Ciel Dubai Marina Reflects Dubai’s Visionary Spirit

Speaking on the landmark moment, Aida Al Busaidy, Associate Vice President of Consumer Advocacy and Social Media at the Dubai Department of Economy and Tourism, highlighted the broader significance of the opening.

She noted that Ciel Dubai Marina stands not only as the world’s tallest hotel, but as a powerful demonstration of Dubai’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of innovation across its hospitality and tourism sectors. The collaboration between public and private partners, including The First Group and XDubai, reflects the city’s continued ambition to lead on a global stage through visionary architecture, Arabian hospitality, and unforgettable experiences.

A New Era of Experiential Luxury

For Rob Burns, CEO of The First Group, the opening of Ciel Dubai Marina represents more than a construction milestone—it’s a statement of intent. The collaboration with XDubai and DET, he shared, embodies a shared vision rooted in creativity, safety-driven innovation, and the pursuit of the extraordinary.

Likewise, Mohammad Javad, Executive Vice President of Leisure & Entertainment at Shamal Holding, emphasized Dubai’s relentless drive to reimagine what’s possible. Through XDubai’s world-class athletes, the activation offered a rare, dynamic perspective of the city—one that reinforced Dubai’s standing as a global destination for architectural ambition and bold storytelling.
