Miami is known for its beautiful beaches, but did you know we have one of the most
spectacular mountains in the country? This is all thanks to Swiss contemporary artist, Ugo Rondinone. He known for creating large-scale land art sculptures, like his famous Seven Magic Mountains that sits just outside the city of Las Vegas. In 2016, he created a similar piece of artwork that fits Miami Beach's art deco vibe perfectly. Staked over 40-feet in height, Miami Mountain consists of 5 vibrantly painted giant boulders. This massive sculpture is permanently installed in front of The Bass Contemporary Art Museum, on the corner of 21st Street and Collins Avenue. According to The Bass, it's the first of its kind to be acquired by a museum, and it's considered to be one of the most important works of land art in the past 40 years.
