When Health is a Priority

When health is a priority, it’s very important to pay attention to what you are eating through out the day. It’s well known that leafy greens such as spinach, kale, and arugula are packed with nutrients and are low in calories. 

Having a salad for lunch or dinner is a great way to get these nutrients.What about when we are on the go, and have no time to eat a full salad? Instead of skipping the greens, drink them in a delicious smoothie instead! 

Here is one of my favorite go-to recipes I make on a weekly basis. I drink this smoothie as a meal replacement when I am on the go, or as a supplementary dose of greens with my regular lunch. I love to take sips on this smoothie through out the day if I am feeling low on energy. It does wonders to cut cravings too! This recipe is filled with nutrients such as iron, potassium, calcium, magnesium, zinc, folate, B vitamins, and antioxidants. Cheers!

Recipe:
1 cup spinach
1 cup arugula
1/4 of a cucumber 
1/2 cup grapes 
1/2 inch of raw ginger Juice of 1 lemon (Add water if needed)


Directions:

Add all of these ingredients in a high powered blender, and blend for approximately 30 seconds until all of the ingredients are well blended. Store in an air tight container in the refrigerator. I love to use a mason jar for this.
