What's New in Automobiles
in Miami

The sub-brand of Ford Motor Cos. which is Ford Autonomous Vehicles has said that a command center will be opened in the west of Miami International Airport which will be an important step in the direction of achieving the company's goal to start ride-hailing
and delivery services by 2022.
The command center will consist of an office plus a warehouse space. The command center will be a cultivating space for functions like business development, research, customer relations, public engagement, safety evaluations and testing. Shortly after this announcement from the company, a woman in Miami was killed by an autonomous car which was not modified by Ford but someone else. The people said that safety is an issue for the autonomous industry and demanded that the government should secure people's lives by implementing rigid laws. Ford Miami AV Market Manager said that Ford chose Miami as the first city to launch its robotic vehicles due to its climate and challenges. He further said that Ford has been testing its autonomous technology in Wynwood, Brickell, Downtown and Miami Beach ensuring full safety
of the public.
In another news, Volvo announced the recall of potentially dangerous airbags inside some of its old model cars. This recall was announced after a man was killed when portions of airbag inflator bombed and flew out. The faulty airbags are placed inside 54,000 S60 and S80 model Volvo cars sold from 2001 till 2003 in the states which include Florida plus eleven more states. The inflators of airbags were made by the company named ZF TRW.
Another new news from Miami is that a Local Dealership has partnered with Miami-dade schools for a technician training program of automobiles. The dealership claims that after the completion of one-year technical program, a person will be able to earn $90K per year. The reason for launching this technical program is that there is a shortage of people who can make and fix things. During the training program, some training will happen in the classroom while most of the work will be hands-on in a workshop. The students will be required to practice whatever they have learnt in the classroom. A total of 20 students will be enrolled at a single time and eligibility criteria for this program is a high school diploma or equivalent.
L’automobile, a 2-day design and concept car show, is going to be held in Miami on November 21 and 22, 2020. Elo, creator of Supercar Rooms Miami based in Wynwood is hosting this event. This is going to be the first of its kind concept car show in which concept cars from past, present and future will be exhibited. The objective of the show is to put automotive makers and customers in the same line through innovation, technology and development. Miami is a perfect choice for such future technology-oriented exhibitions. A lot of globally exclusive unveils will be happening in this car show. A total of 36 concept vehicles will be presented at the event and a discussion with a panel consisting of renowned automotive designers from around the world will also be taking place.
