Top Streaming Services for Quality Home Entertainment

For the past few months, we have all had to deal with the new norm the pandemic has brought the entire world. One of which is the closure of movie theatres, concert venues, and other entertainment outlets.
Since we have all had to stay at home on strict social distancing rules, the need for
home entertainment has increased rapidly.
This, however, has been a good development, as people can now cope with staying at
home without getting too bored.
But, the only problem is that there might be too many streaming services – and you can’t pay for all, as some are quite expensive, while others are pocket-friendly or even free.
So, how do you get to choose what streaming service suits your interest, pocket, and so on?
Here is a list of top streaming platforms you can start with.
1. Tubi:
For several months, Tubi has been the movie lover’s best-kept secret, until a study revealed that the streaming service actually ranked in the top 10 most downloaded streaming apps in 2020.
Tubi (now owned by FOX Corporation) has an on-demand library of over 20,000 movies and Tv shows. Viewers of this top streaming service have compared it to be a pocket-friendly version of NETFLIX – Only that they don’t have the newer, profile titles that
NETFLIX boasts.
Tubi has a clean, streamlined experience. The home page is organized into sections like Recently Added, Family Movies, Action, and Black Cinema. There is an option to browse through the menu for more genres and curated collections, including the clever and cheeky Not on Netflix area.
Signing up isn’t compulsory to use Tubi streaming service, although that limits your access to parental controls, a queue, and viewing history.
2. Vudu:
If you can bear a few ads during your movie experience, this free streaming service is a great option. Digitally, Vudu has been one of the most trusted hubs for buying and renting movies and television shows.
To use Vudu, you will have to sign up for an account (or use your Walmart account), after which you can access over 10,000 free movies and TV episodes.
The Walmart-owned Vudu has a very friendly and easy-to-use interface. Also, free contents are marked and you can filter just for free titles if you don’t want to subscribe to their pocket-friendly plans.
3. Pluto:
Pluto is another top streaming service that’s quickly gaining popularity. Pluto is an American internet streaming platform owned by ViacomCBS. Pluto is advertiser-supported (much like Tubi) and offers hundreds of curated channels. Many of those channels will feel familiar, like channel 236 which streams CBS news 24 hours a day. But you’ll also have access to channels that constantly stream shows like Degrassi, MTV Cribs, and The Twilight Zone.
Pluto has a clean and simple interface; just toggle between live and on-demand. Both are organized into categories, making it easy to find the kind of content you want to watch.
Signing up to stream events on Pluto is not necessary, although not doing that will limit your access to enjoy some special features; like the ability to designate favorite channels and resume watching a program on a different device.
4. Crackle:
Crackle offers free movies and TV shows and even original programming, which sets it apart from most of the other top streaming services on this list. Registration is not required to use Crackle, though an account lets you add favorites and save progress while watching a movie.
Crackle includes TV shows that you’ll also find on other services, like Roseanne and Hell’s Kitchen, and in the movies section, you can watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, The Cable Guy, Train to Busan, and Star Trek: Generations.
5. IMDB:
IDMB (aka the internet movie database) has been a top resource for filmographies. Much like Vudu, IMDb gives you access to several movies and television shows for free—as long as you don’t mind advertisements during the watch.
With AMAZON running the backend, IMDBtv has an impressive library of free on-demand content you can choose from.
Zero Dark Thirty, Rain Man, Gattaca, The Amityville Horror, and Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs are among the recently added movies, giving IMDBtv credibility as one of the top streaming services you can try today.
