MIAMI DATE NIGHTS
JUST GOT BRIGHTER

As a Fort Lauderdale resident, I have avoided Miami date nights like the plague. From the stressful commute to traffic to exorbitant parking prices coupled with the constant worry about alcohol consumption, it was not for me. However, a new service has made me re-think my hesitation for what used to be long, arduous, expensive travel. The Brightline, which has opened rides between Palm Beach, Fort Lauderdaleand Miami, is a major game changer for Miami date nights. Not only is the service fast and convenient, it takes the stress out of commuting and allows for drinking without constant worry. It actually makes traveling enjoyable!
I like to think of the Brightline as the Soul Cycle of public transport. It is refreshing, clean, contemporary and comfortable. The staff is friendly, and it takes thirty minutes or less to get from Fort Lauderdale to Miami. The Dyson dryers in the bathroom are a small, but significant added touch. The group behind the Brightline is even building a shopping area in the terminals with unique and desirable vendors. If you are willing to splurge a bit, the premium tickets come with unlimited craft beer, premium wine and delicious snack options such as specialty cheeses, an assortment of protein bars, charcuterie, and the list goes on.
At this point, you may be thinking to yourself, "So what’s the perfect [Fort Lauderdale resident] Miami date night?" Take the Brightline to a Miami Heat game. The American Airlines Arena is a five minute walk. Grab a drink and bite at the new 601 restaurant on the grounds of the arena, which features sushi from Pubbelly, and enjoy Dwyane Wade’s last dance as a Heat player.
The train waits until the game is over for the last trip back north, so no need to rush (or leave early).
