How much avocado should I be eating? How much sleep should I get? What’s intermittentfasting all about? Can celery juice make me skinny? The questions women have surroundingweight loss are endless. The market is saturated with diet trends and new fads seem to pop up daily.
Dana James, author of The Archetype Diet offers a one stop shop for women to reclaim their self-worth and change the shape of your body. Her book is a complete guide for women that is based on an archetype model developed in childhood.
There are 4 body types with customized meal plans, along with practical tools one can use to address core beliefs, which are the driving force behind a women’s struggle with diet. Dana visited The Sacred Space Miami in March to provide a deep dive into her book. She exuded royal vibes with the generosity of a woman at her crown.
She was grounded, kind, and present to the woman in attendance. Dana’s sincerity with her own transformational process is reflected in the book and was felt by the crowd during her visit.
She enlightened us all with her equation for weight loss, which includes inflammation, hormones, and unexpressed emotions. She’s also an advocate for moving the energy linked to core beliefs through The Class by Taryn Toomey, emotional freedom technique(EFT), and Kundalini yoga.
Dana is a goddess raising the vibration of all women and offers the tools needed to ascend to your crown and live a beautiful life.
The book guides readers in discovering which of the four archetypes they embody:
is always there to care for others. She is kind and compassionate but this can come at the expense of her own self-care.
THE WONDER WOMAN
bases her self-worth on her accomplishments. She is ambitious and driven, but her work often takes precedent over her diet.
THE FEMME FATALE
is sensual, strong, and alluring but can be obsessed with her looks to the point that she develops an unhealthy relationship with food.
is spiritual and intuitive, but highly sensitive, to her environment so she tends to eat to numb her reactions
to the world.
How do you feel about being in Miami?
I feel this sense of openness about being in the warmth, with blue skies and palm trees. There are so many facets of Miami that continue to develop and thrive. My best friend lives in Coconut Grove, and I got to sample some ice cream at The Farmer’s Market during my visit.
You’re a triple board-certified nutritionist, functional medicine practitioner, and cognitive behavioral therapist. How do you tie in the holistic approach to diet?
I have a full model. People forget about the energetic layers because they can’t see it. We can’t see what’s in the auric field. There are so many tools for releasing what’s stored in the subconscious and
Addressing beliefs in the subconscious as it relates to weight loss seems to be a never ending process. What’s your take on that?
It’s always an evolving process. It takes time to address childhood upsets and peel those layers back. At first, it can feel overwhelming. Now, I’m excited to see patterns, so I get excited to see the connections. From this place I can break them. You get to go at your own speed. Ultimately, we look at these things, so we have a greater level of consciousness and clarity with the physical body. It no longer becomes scary.
What is the biggest component piece of the manifestation process tied to balancing your archetype?
That’s simple. Self –Worth. The Archetype Diet provides all the tools you need to feed your unique body chemistry, examine your limiting beliefs, and ultimately re-wire what has been working against your goals.
