It's that time of the year again Miami...the South Beach Wine & Food Festival where we get to stuff our faces with a whole bunch of goodies and a whole latta great wine.
To help us kick things off right, Miami Vibes Magazine was joined by Chef Todd Erickson, Chef Ana Quincoces, Chef Omar Montero, Chef Eileen Andrade and Chef Carlos Aquilera for a pretty awesome feast at Clutch Burger, a modern gourmet burger joint.
Chef Todd is the executive Chef/Partner of GLAM Vegan Miami and if you didn't know, beat Bobby Flay. From Eater.com's "Hottest Chef" 2012, Food Network Magazine's "50 States Fifty Tacos. Florida's Best Taco" 2014, Seed Food and Wine Burger Battle's "Best Plant Based Burger in America" 2015, to winning Food Network Channel's "Beat Bobby Flay" in 2016, Erickson has consistently shown his skill and talent.
Chef Ana specializes in Cuban cuisine and introduced the culinary community to her Skinny Latina™ line with the launch of her multi-use Million Dollar Marinade. A former “Real Housewife of Miami,” Quincoces also authored three cookbooks: Cu ban Chicks Can Cook, Sabor: A Passion For Cuban Cuisine and Versailles Restaurant Cookbook. In this feature, Quincoces, who has two adult daughters, discusses her childhood, her love of Cuban food and culture, and, of course, motherhood.
Chef Omar has brought some original street taco concepts to Miami's culinary grounds. whose name you may recognize from La Veinte Deli & Café, Copper 29, and Unique Catering Design – the concept of La Santa came to life after he searched high and low for a little piece of his hometown of Mexico City in South Florida. After creating the menu concepts for the aforementioned restaurants, an entrepreneurial spirit was sparked in Chef Omar, leading him to opening La Santa as his first personal project.
Chef Eileen appeared on shows like Chow Masters and on the Travel Channel’s Food Paradise. She’s just opened her second restaurant, Amelia’s 1931, in suburban Miami, more than three years after launching her inaugural concept Finka Table & Tap about a mile away. Be sure to check her out at this year's festival on February 24 at the Biltmore Hotel.
And finally, Chef Carlos is Clutch Burger's very own talented executive chef who's created some pretty mean burgers at this joint. Turn to page 39 to find out more about Clutch Burger.
"Always Clutch. Never Basic." couldn't exist a more perfect motto for this gourmet burger joint.
When you go to Clutch Burger, the entire staff (owners Ana and Steven, Chef Carlos, and host Iggy) makes you feel like you're going to your best friend's house: you're welcomed with such enthusiasm and friendliness and then they stuff your face with such deliciousness!
When I go to my best friend Amy's house, that is the exact same thing that happens. So, at Clutch Burger I feel right at home.
Clutch Burger opened its door on July 5, 2018. It has brought such liveliness to Giralda Plaza with its games nights and flavorful appetizers options to decadent burgers. Customer's favorites have been the spicy Volcano Burger, the Shroom Boom, the signature Clutch Burger along with Yuca Cheese Bites.
Chef Carlos Aguilera is the mastermind behind the mouth watering options and Director of Beverage Ignacio Escandon does not disappoint with his extensive wine list. It's really a one for all, all for one kind of place.
Next time you just want to take a load off during the day with a good burger and be surrounded by a gorgeous environment, head on over to Clutch Burger, kick back with Steven and Iggy, order any of the burgers (because they are all pretty freaking amazing), indulge in some bottomless mimosas and come feel like you're at your best friend's house.
