Q: Where are you from?
A: I was born in Aquin, Haiti. But raised in Orlando Fl.
Q: How long have you been in Miami?
A: I lived in Miami for 2 years before moving my work base to Atlanta, Ga.
Q: What made you move to Miami?
A: I moved to Miami because I got signed to a creative agency as a wardrobe stylist, and started styling with some of the top fashion photographers in Miami.
Q: What was your career path?
A: I now have a career as a costume designer and stylist for tv & film. However, I was styling for 5 years by the time I'd made my transition to Miami.
Q: Who influenced you the most?
A: Honestly, I don't think I was influenced by anyone. I've always known what I wanted to do since I was like, 5. Art was always my super power, but my medium became fashion after an aunt taught me how to sew at the age of 8.
Q: Who have you styled?
A: Yikes, you might have to google. lol. But, most of the major Haitian artists like Roberto Martino, Jbeatz, Ti Jo Zenny, KLASS, Phyllisia Ross. With other recording artists being Adekunle Gold, Stalley, Young Baby Tate, Klondike Blonde, Dave East, Nicole C. Mullen... just to name a few.
Q: Any one of the above you preferred styling the most?
A: I'm not going to set myself like that. lol I loved styling them all equally.
Q: What motivates you?
A: My family and the pursuit of happiness. If it adds to my being happy, that'll drive me to do pretty much anything. Sharing the wealth adds to me being happy. So this motivates me to create opportunities for others.
Q: Can you describe that "moment" (experience, emotion,) when you knew that you were pursuing your passion?
A: My first music video. I reached out to Haitian Producer J Beatz via facebook, to style his 2nd music video at the time. I found a lead, negotiated my rate, and closed my first major booking. I felt like a boss. Nobody told me to do it, it's just what I wanted to happen. He then went on to book me 3 more times afterwards.
Q: What is something most people wouldn’t know about you?
A: I love to write. I write short stories and scripts when I get into that mood. As a costume designer, my storytelling comes in the form of styling wardrobe placed on a character. But, I can get very descriptive about things, so when I'm able to write it out, it's like scribing out a spell that takes you wherever you want to go.
Q: What’s a quote you live by?
A: "The only true wisdom is in knowing you know nothing." - Socrates
I believe Life gets pretty easy, when you've come to understand this idea.
